Laser treatments offer numerous skin remedies

New high-tech lasers have people streaming into Samaritan Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery for treatment of numerous skin conditions.

The lasers, Candela VBeam and Candela GentleMAX with YAG technology, treats blood-vessel related conditions including rosacea, facial veins, broken blood vessels, spider veins, early scars, acne scarring, red birth marks, port wine stains and angiomas.

Linda Havard, RN, BSN, has been seeing patients in Corvallis for more than nine years for skin care, laser hair reduction and other cosmetic treatments. With the addition of the lasers to her office over the past two years, she now spends the majority of her time working with patients who have conditions treatable with the new lasers.

“The results are truly amazing,” said Havard. “There are instant improvements for so many people who’ve lived with often embarrassing conditions for some time. In many cases, these patients did not know of any solutions to their skin issues. These lasers now offer a solution.”

Havard says the Candela lasers are considered the “gold standard” and are the only ones of their kind in the area. She said the dramatic results and the relative painlessness of the procedures have helped to grow patient demand in recent months.

“We see a lot of family members and friends of our patients,” said Havard.  “The procedures are totally non-invasive and there is really no down time. The feedback has been wonderful.”

According to Havard, side effects can include mild bruising and a little swelling. The average cost for a laser treatment is $250. Havard offers complimentary consultations for people interested in discussing treatments options.  For more information and to schedule a consultation, call (541) 768-4370.
