Central Coast Internal Medicine joins Samaritan Health Services

Mar 14,2014
Central Coast Internal Medicine has become Samaritan Central Coast Internal Medicine, a move designed to help both the clinic and Samaritan continue to provide the best possible care and service to patients and the community.

The clinic, formed in 1988, is a well-established internal medicine practice providing primary health care for Lincoln County adult residents. Currently, three full-time board certified internists plus four full-time certified physician assistants provide primary care for adult patients, focusing on quality with compassion and respect.

Samaritan Central Coast Internal Medicine providers include David Long, MD; Anna Hays, MD; James Hylton, MD;  Stan Ferguson, PA-C; Stacey Merz, PA-C;  Brad Witman, PA-C; and Briana Rivera, PA-C. Physicians Hays and Hylton, as well as physician assistants Merz, Witman and Rivera, are accepting new patients.

The clinic has maintained a positive working relationship with Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital over the years, and has helped provide care to patients in the hospital. Providers at Samaritan Central Coast Internal Medicine are also actively serving health care needs in the community, including leadership and services to the Lincoln County Health Department, and Lincoln County Jail.

“I’m happy to strengthen ties with Samaritan,” said Dr. Long. “This new arrangement underscores our ongoing efforts to provide compassionate and efficient patient-centered care to members of our community. Patients might not notice much of a difference when they come in for appointments, but much of the behind-the-scenes work – paperwork, records, regulatory compliance and similar tasks – will occur in an even more coordinated manner.”

Samaritan Central Coast Internal Medicine will remain in the offices adjacent to Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital, at 775 SW Ninth Street, Suite B, in Newport. This gives the clinic direct access to X-ray, laboratory and other outpatient services all under the same roof.
