Film fest benefits Women’s Cancer Coalition

Jan 8,2014
View award-winning films — everything from quirky animation to touching documentaries — at this year’s LUNAFEST, a fundraiser for Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation’s Women’s Cancer Coalition fund.

LUNAFEST will be held Saturday, Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. in LaSells Stewart Center at Oregon State University. Doors open at 6 p.m. Refreshments will be provided.

Admission is $15, and $12 for students and seniors. Tickets may be purchased online at samhealth.org/GSHF, at Grass Roots Bookstore in downtown Corvallis, as well as at the door on the event night.

Fifteen percent of the funds raised will support the national Breast Cancer Fund, an organization dedicated to identifying and advocating for the elimination of environmental causes of breast cancer. Remaining proceeds benefit the Women’s Cancer Coalition’s early detection and outreach programs, including free women’s cancer screening events. The coalition’s mission is to provide increased awareness, education and resources for breast and cervical cancer patients, in Linn, Benton and Lincoln counties.
