Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center
is planning to hold an earthquake drill on April 23 and is seeking volunteers to serve as pretend patients.
Meant to prepare for patient care in the case of a real earthquake, this drill will help hospital personnel and community emergency services partners practice radio communications, power outage response, patient evacuation, electronic medical records downtime and patient triage.
To simulate injuries of various kinds, makeup will be applied to volunteers before the drill, to make the scenario as realistic as possible.
Volunteers under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult.
For more information and to volunteer, contact Vicky Lyons of the hospital’s Emergency Management Department at 541-768-6558 or email@example.com by April 4.
