Cynthia S. Marske, DO, has joined Samaritan Health Services (SHS) as the internal medicine residency program director. She boasts a wealth of research and practical experience, with a focus in geriatrics and fibromyalgia.

Marske will be instrumental in the continuing development of a Corvallis-based internal medicine residency program. As part of Samaritan’s medical education team, she will work with various members of SHS administration, health care professionals throughout the Pacific Northwest and officials at Western University of Health Sciences in California.

"Dr. Marske brings expertise in faculty development which will be an incredible addition not only to the internal medicine residency, but to all of Samaritan’s educational programs," said SHS Director of Medical Education Alissa Craft, DO, MBA.

Marske earned a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Ky., and a medical degree from Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio. She completed an internship and residency training at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Wash., and completed a fellowship in faculty development at the University of California, San Francisco. She is board certified in internal medicine.

“I am excited to be a part of building an outstanding medical education program. I plan to continue to build upon the success of the Internal Medicine Residency,” said Marske. “My goal is to fill our residency program with the brightest and most compassionate physicians in training. Long term, I hope these physicians will remain in our community as local providers and as teachers for students and physicians at COMP - Northwest.”

Marske joins Samaritan from Touro University Medical Center in Vallejo, Calif., where she served as the center’s medical director, associate professor of internal medicine and the vice chair of primary care. She comes to Samaritan with 16 years of clinical experience in internal medicine and as a hospitalist.

In addition to serving as the internal medicine program director, Dr. Marske will join the hospitalist team at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center. Hospitalists work closely with hospital staff to coordinate and provide care to inpatients, with expertise in diagnosing and treating patients who require hospitalization.
