Learn how you can prevent peripheral artery disease

Aug 16,2013
If you are concerned about peripheral artery disease, sign up for the free seminar hosted by Samaritan Heart & Vascular Institute on Tuesday, Sept. 10.

The seminar will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in conference rooms A and B at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.

John Molitor, MD, of Corvallis Radiology, will share information about this common circulatory problem affecting millions of Americans, in which narrowed arteries reduce blood flow to your limbs. You will learn about PAD, its risk factors and tips for prevention.

Dr. Molitor will also demonstrate an ankle-brachial index (ABI) exam, a simple, painless examination comparing blood pressure in the feet and arms to detect PAD. Participants who are not already diagnosed with PAD, and have not been screened in the last three years, will also have the opportunity to schedule for a free ABI exam at a later date.

Heart-healthy refreshments will be provided. Registration is required, as space is limited. To register, visit samhealth.org/BeHealthy, call 541-768-4887, or call toll free at 1-855-873-0647.
