Prescriptions can be the source of many questions and concerns among patients. Questions can range from “Do I really have to take this every day?” to “Will this cause side effects?” to “How will this react with the other medications I take?”
Pharmacists and pharmacy students will answer those questions at the next Healthy Minds, Healthy Bodies seminar at Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital. The seminar will take place on Tuesday, April 16, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in conference rooms B-C at the hospital.
Some of the topics that will be addressed include: storing, organizing and disposing of medications; preventing accidental poisoning and overdoses; and why you should not split, share or stop taking any prescription medication without your doctor’s advice.
The pharmacy team will answer questions such as:
- Are generic drugs as effective as brand-name ones?
- What is the best time of day to take my medications?
- Why does my doctor want to see me in her office, when all I need is a refill?
