Samaritan Health Services welcomes Licensed Clinical Psychologist Jennifer Cooper, PhD.
She will provide mental and behavioral health services to patients of Samaritan Coastal Clinic
and Samaritan Lincoln City Medical Center
Dr. Cooper earned a bachelor’s degree at Oregon State University, a master’s degree at Connecticut College and a doctoral degree at Alliant International University. She specializes in treating depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder.
Dr. Cooper’s prior clinical experience includes providing mental health care for the United States Army, the Veteran’s Administration and the National Guard. She also served patients in private practice from 2007 to 2014.
Including mental health care in a primary care clinic is an example of the patient-centered medical home model of health care. This model of health care integrates physical and mental health care through a team-based, proactive, individualized approach for patients of all ages.
“We are thrilled to offer these services within the primary care setting,” said Ronalee Knight, manager of Samaritan Coastal Clinic and Samaritan Lincoln City Medical Center. “Samaritan clinics across the region have found that patients truly benefit when their physical and emotional or psychological concerns can be addressed in one place.”
