Postpartum depression seminar on June 7

An astounding number of mothers go untreated for postpartum depression. Wendy Davis, PhD, executive director for Postpartum International Support, will address this topic at a free educational seminar on Friday, June 7. The seminar is open to community members, health care providers and public health professionals.

Davis will present on topics such as:
• Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders: types, symptoms and case examples
• Risk factors, screening and prevention
• Steps to wellness and treatment options

The seminar will be held from 8 a.m. to noon at Samaritan Albany General Hospital in conference rooms A and B. Pre-registration is required by Wednesday, May 29, to hopeformothers@live.com. For questions, call 541-812-4475. Light refreshments will be provided.

The seminar is hosted by the Samaritan Albany General Hospital Women’s Center and sponsored through the Albany General Hospital Foundation’s Hope for Mothers Postpartum Support Group.
