'Sweet talk' on sweeteners planned at Lebanon hospital

Mar 5,2014
It’s no secret that sugar is not your friend. Today, we can choose instead from several artificial sweeteners, from NutraSweet to Sweet’N Low to Splenda. But are these really any healthier than sugar?

Find out at the next Healthy Minds, Healthy Bodies seminar at Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital, on Tuesday, March 18, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in conference rooms B and C.

Angie Frederic, hospital dietitian and diabetes educator, will discuss the pros and cons of the variety of sweeteners currently available.  She will go over the latest research about safety, uses and how to make the best selection for your needs.

Healthy snacks will be provided. While the seminar is free, pre-registration is required as space is limited.

Register today by calling toll-free 1-855-873-0647 or visiting samhealth.org/BeHealthy.
