Samaritan Pediatrics recently welcomed Carissa Cousins, MD, to its practice. She is accepting new patients.
Prior to coming to Corvallis, Dr. Cousins worked for eight years in a Pediatric ER in St. Petersburg, Fla., and then went on to serve with Doctors without Borders in places such as South Sudan and Papua New Guinea. Her work internationally included a Sexual and Intimate Partner violence program, a therapeutic feeding program and a measles vaccine campaign.
Dr. Cousins earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida and a medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine. She completed residency training at Shands Children’s Hospital in Florida. Dr. Cousins is board certified in pediatrics.
Dr. Cousins also works at the ABC House, which provides a safe, respectful and healing environment for children who are victims of abuse.
Dr. Cousins relocated to Oregon to enjoy all of the outdoor activities the Pacific Northwest has to offer. In her free time, she enjoys running, swimming and tennis.
