Celebrate with Mario Pastega on his 95th birthday

Dec 8,2011
The public is invited to wish longtime Corvallis businessman and philanthropist Mario Pastega a happy 95th birthday at an open house on Monday, Dec. 12.

The event will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Mario Pastega House, the hospitality house on the campus of Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center. Refreshments will be served and Fijian recording artist Inoke Baravilala will provide entertainment.

Pastega is well known in the community for his generosity and dedication to causes including health care and education. He led the capital campaign to build the Mario Pastega House, a comfortable home away from home for patients travelling to Corvallis for medical care, and is currently working with the Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation to build an endowment for the house.

Also attending the event will be Semesa Leweni, of Fiji, who was recently featured in the Corvallis Gazette-Times following a remarkable journey which brought him to Corvallis for emergency surgery to remove a brain tumor in October. He will soon return to Fiji, and Pastega is happily sharing his birthday celebration with those who would like to wish Leweni well.
