Millions of people are impacted by sleep disorders, ranging from insomnia to sleep apnea — a condition where even 10 hours of “sleep” each night can lead to fatigue-filled days.
A new support group, aptly titled “Dream On,” aims to help those who suffer from a sleep disorder find the help and support they need. The group’s first meeting takes place Wednesday, June 12, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Samaritan Albany General Hospital
in the third floor conference room 2.
Mark Reploeg, MD, a sleep medicine specialist from The Corvallis Clinic Sleep Medicine Department and medical director of the Samaritan Sleep Medicine Program
, will explain how sleep disorders can be successfully treated.
The Dream On group will meet quarterly throughout the year, with guest speakers presenting on topics related to sleep disorders. Refreshments and sleep-related giveaways will be available.
Pre-registration required; please call Samaritan Sleep Center in Albany at 541-812-5470 to register or for more information. To learn more about sleep disorders and treatments available locally, visit samhealth.org/Sleep
