Fall book sale a success
Nov 17,2009
The Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital Auxiliary, in cooperation with Bob’s Beach Books, held its Fall Book Sale on Nov. 4. Over the years, the Auxiliary's annual book fair has become one of its primary fundraisers. The sale, which netted the Auxiliary $717, was the most successful in the history of the Auxiliary’s book sales.
Profits from the sale will be used to purchase medical equipment for the hospital and to support various programs and services for those patients who cannot afford them. Patient comfort is at the heart of many Auxiliary projects.
Bob’s Beach Books donated a large gift basket for a raffle during the event. The basket was won by Connie Isaac, executive director of the North Lincoln Hospital Foundation. In addition to the book sale, the auxiliary members also staff the hospital gift shop on a daily basis. Proceeds from the shop are used to support medical scholarships and hospital programs.
“We are always amazed by the generosity of this community and specifically, this group of employees,” said Kathy Stuart, Auxiliary member and Book Sale Chair. “We appreciate the employees who started their Christmas shopping early and made a purchase.”
