Have you ever wondered how many calories your body burns? Are you frustrated with unsuccessful attempts to lose weight? Well, Samaritan Health Services is pleased to offer metabolic testing.
The Korr ReeVue system is a 10 minute test that determines how many calories you burn at rest, based on the amount of oxygen you consume. It takes a fixed amount of oxygen to burn a calorie. This method is the gold standard for determining calorie needs. From person to person, it takes a different amount of calories to lose, gain or maintain weight.
With the results of this test you’ll have the information you need for success, including knowing whether your metabolism is fast, normal or slow. A registered dietitian performs the test and can to help you put together a healthy eating plan based on your results. Many insurance plans cover the cost and a physician’s referral is required. Currently the test is available in Corvallis, Albany, Lebanon and Lincoln City.
