The new entryway and waiting area of the Emergency Room at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center is slated to open Tuesday, March 16 at 8 a.m.
Most of the ER’s new treatment rooms opened last July when construction on the hospital’s new critical care tower was complete. With the completion of this second phase of construction, patients will be able enter the ER via a covered loading area and entryway.
The ER entryway is located on Northwest Samaritan Drive, just north of the main hospital entrance at 3600 NW Samaritan Drive. It is clearly marked with a red, lighted “emergency” sign.
“I want to thank the community for its patience and cooperation as this portion of the new ER was completed,” said hospital CEO Steve Jasperson.
ER capacity at Good Sam has just about doubled and patients and families can expect:
• Shorter wait times
• Expanded public areas providing increased comfort and privacy
• A calming physical space featuring cutting-edge medical equipment for patients facing life-threatening trauma or illness
“We see an ever increasing number of patients in our ER,” Jasperson said. “We are very proud of this new space, as it has increased our ability to provide life-saving trauma services for the community.”
