Cancer survivors who have ever received treatment at Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital can learn fun art skills through four free workshops throughout the month of September.
ArtsCare, a partnership between Samaritan Health Services and the Arts Center in Corvallis, will host the workshops on Saturdays in September for cancer survivors, as well as their caregivers. All workshops will run from 10 a.m. to noon at the hospital. The schedule includes:
- Sept. 10: Lebanon artist Holly Dubrasich will lead participants in creating ceramic wall vases for their homes. Register by Sept. 7.
- Sept. 17: Corvallis artist Jan Wilcox will teach participants to make collage journals to display in their homes. Register by Sept. 14.
- Sept. 24: Albany artist Lucy Johnson will lead participants in a freestyle painting workshop. Register by Sept. 21.
The goal of ArtsCare is to enhance the health care experience for patients, visitors and employees by integrating art and music into the health care setting.
