On Saturday, May 22, Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital (SPCH) will join local agencies to conduct a community full scale disaster response drill. The goal for this event is to activate and exercise the community multi casualty response plan, utilization of shelter services, and decontamination of mock victims at the scene and at the hospital.
To create a realistic drill, SPCH is seeking 20 volunteers to role play as mock victims, family members, bystanders and other roles during the exercise. Community members and high school students are encouraged to participate.
Individuals with Incident Command System (ICS) experience are needed to assist with the evaluation of the drill at the hospital. This may include current or retired law enforcement, fire, emergency medical technicians and emergency managers.
As Samaritan Health Services strives to build healthy, strong, better-prepared communities, we hope that you will join us in our effort by volunteering your time. For more information, call Jenny Demaris, SPCH Emergency Management coordinator at 541-574-4749.
