Learn about stroke symptoms at open house

Apr 25,2011
Approximately 795,000 Americans will suffer a stroke this year, yet most Americans cannot identify stroke symptoms or risk factors. Many strokes – studies indicate up to 80 percent – can be prevented through risk factor management. Chances of full recovery are higher if symptoms are recognized immediately.

May is National Stroke Awareness Month. To help the public learn more about stroke, Speech Therapist Shawn Johnson and members of the Corvallis Stroke and Brain Injury Support Group will host an open house at its May meeting to share information and answer questions about stroke risk factors, symptoms, treatment and recovery. Refreshments will be served.

Open House for the Corvallis Stroke and Brain Injury Support Group
Tuesday, May 3
, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
