Lebanon hospital to hold babysitter training on Feb. 25

Kids from 11 to 13 years old, who are interested in babysitting work, can learn all they need to know at a Safe Sitter class on Saturday, Feb. 25at Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital.

The class will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in conference room E at the hospital. Cost is $45, which includes an instruction manual, a messenger bag and other supplies. Upon completion, each student will receive a completion card. They will also have access to an online newsletter which features a babysitting survey, tips and activities to do when babysitting.

Safe Sitter is a nationally recognized babysitter education program, developed in 1980 by a pediatrician who was recognized by the American Academy of Pediatrics. Hospital employees Roxie Snyder, Mary Speth and Carol Smedberg, certified program instructors, will lead the class.

Safe Sitter graduates also have access to an online newsletter. It features a babysitting survey, tips and activities to do when babysitting.
