The Lebanon Community Hospital Foundation is now accepting applications for the Frank Girod, MD, Scholarship for medical students from east Linn County.
The deadline to apply is April 30. Winners will be announced by June 1.
East Linn County residents enrolled in medical school are eligible for the scholarship, named for the late Frank Girod, MD, a primary care physician who was instrumental in the establishment of Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital.
Scholarship amounts have ranged from $1,500 to $8,000 per year. Previous recipients of the scholarship are now working across the country, from Hawaii to New York.
Applicants must submit an application, available from the foundation office at the hospital, as well as a written statement about their goals and any community service involvement.
