Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital’s 2010 Employee of the Year is Noelle McLaughlin. CEO Marty Cahill presented McLaughlin the prestigious award at a recent hospital-wide meeting.
McLaughlin, a nurse in the Emergency Department, began her career with the hospital in 2007, and is considered an invaluable asset to the ED and to the hospital. Her outgoing personality and enthusiasm are a constant, even in the most hectic situations. Her co-workers describe her as fun, outgoing and a team player.
“My favorite part of working in the ED is the team atmosphere. The camaraderie is great. Knowing I can count on all of my co-workers is a great feeling,” said McLaughlin. “There’s nothing more rewarding than knowing I am giving the best care possible to each of my patients and that everyone else on my team is putting in that same effort.”
McLaughlin grew up in Yamhill, a small town just outside of McMinnville. She said, “Family trips often included the coast and I had such fond memories, I thought it would be a great place to live and work.”
Currently, she lives in Lincoln City with her husband Marty and their two dogs, Lloyd and Betty. In her spare time, she enjoys running and hiking with her dogs, baking, and golfing with her husband. Occasionally, McLaughlin and her husband will take a short road trip to cheer on their favorite sports team, the Trail Blazers.
The hospital's employee advisory committee noted, “Noelle is loved by her patients and her co-workers. She works very hard to better herself with continuing education. She makes the words TEAM PLAYER come alive when she works. She also knows how to have fun and to make the day brighter when everything is busting loose. She is so good at her job that she connects with her patients on an emotional level which not only makes her patients feel well cared for, but makes her a great asset to Samaritan Health Services.”
