May 23,2012

Teens from across the mid-Willamette Valley are invited to participate in the TrackTown Relay event on Saturday, June 16 at Corvallis High School. The event is sponsored by SamFit and American Family Insurance and is a statewide marathon relay competition among high school-aged students where six-person teams race for their chance to qualify for the finals at Hayward Field in Eugene on June 21.

Incoming high school freshman through graduating high school seniors are eligible to form teams; the top two finishing girls’ and boys’ teams from each region, along with the next four fastest teams throughout the state; a total of 32 teams will advance to the finals on June 21. Following the final competition, members of all 32 teams will participate in TrackTown12 opening day ceremonies and attend the first day of the U.S. Olympic Trials on June 22. Teams are invited to register by May 31, 2012 on the TrackTown Relay Facebook page. The event will be held at the Corvallis High School track and competition begins at 9 a.m.
