Your Insurance CoveragePlease be prepared to present your insurance card when you check in for any appointment. We will bill all your insurance companies. You will be asked to pay any co-payment or deductible at the time of service. If we do not receive payment from your insurance company promptly, we will ask you to contact them directly to arrange for payment. Your insurance company will send you an “explanation of benefits” notice after receiving our bill for health care services rendered to you or your family members covered by your health plan. MedicareSamaritan Health Services is a Medicare-participating provider. Medicare does not always pay for all services. If we believe they may not pay for a particular service, we are required to ask you to sign an Advance Beneficiary Notice. If Medicare then denies the claim, we will bill you directly. Please see your Medicare handbook for more information. If you do not have insuranceIf you are not covered by commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, or any other health plan, our financial assistance specialists can help you plan for an upcoming hospital or clinic visit by estimating charges, discussing payment plan options and exploring financial assistance opportunities. Shortly after services are provided at an SHS-affiliated hospital, clinic, or outpatient service, a billing statement will be sent to your residence. We ask that you pay in full or contact us to arrange a payment plan within 30 days. We offer a 10 percent discount to patients with no insurance coverage, which will appear automatically on your statement. You may also choose to apply for free or reduced charges based on your income. |
