Grief Support

With the support of SHS chaplains and social service professionals, the SHS hospitals offer grief support programs to community members who are mourning the deaths of loved ones. The programs are free. Some are ongoing, weekly events; others run for a specific number of weeks.

The support groups pay particular attention to the holiday period, when people’s grief may be most acute. For example, in Newport each December, the Chaplain at Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital leads a four-week Grief Support Group.

For locations and times of individual support groups, visit the Health Information and Classes section of our Web site.
