Mario Pastega House

Patients and their families traveling to Corvallis for medical care have one less thing to worry about now that Samaritan Health Services has opened its own “home away from home.” The burden of finding and affording overnight accommodation has been lifted with the opening in 2004 of the Mario Pastega House on the campus of Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis. The suggested nightly fee for one of the 12 guest rooms is $20, but no one is turned away for inability to pay.

In addition to comfortably appointed rooms, the 6,500-square-foot facility features a large living/dining area, fully equipped kitchen, chapel, children’s play area, laundry facilities, outdoor patio and garden area, and three RV parking spaces with full hook-ups.

More than 1,100 individuals, businesses, and foundations have contributed to the $2.3 million fund drive to build the facility and establish an endowment to support its ongoing operation.

The guest house is open to anyone traveling 30 miles or more to receive treatment at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center. A referral from a physician or hospital staff member is required. The reservation number is (541) 768-4650 or toll-free (888) 872-0760. See the Mario Pastega House section of this Web site for more information.
