Support Groups
Dozens of support groups, covering health issues from abuse intervention to stroke and brain injury, are offered free of charge through SHS hospitals. Some, such as “Better Breathers,” “Diabetes Support,” and “Heart Education” are directed by SHS health professionals. Others, such as “Fibromyalgia” and “Menopause Support” are directed by community volunteers with authorizations and speaking visits from SHS health care professionals. SHS hospitals make their meeting rooms available for these community get-togethers. Complete, updated lists of support groups are listed in the Support Groups section and in health publications printed seasonally by SHS.
