Nurse Assistant (CNA Level 1) Training

Nurse Assistant (CNA Level 1) Training

Committed to a team approach to care

A level one certified nursing assistant (CNA) assists patients and family members with activities of daily living. The CNA level 1 certification assures patients and caregivers alike that their needs are cared for in the safest possible manner.

We have partnered with Linn-Benton Community College (LBCC) to offer a continuum of nurse assistant training with the goal of meeting the workforce needs of our organization and the community. We begin with the Samaritan Nurse Assistant Training Program, which prepares the student to become a CNA 1. We also offer the CNA Level 2 Acute Care Course, which is required to work within SHS and may be required for other acute care facilities/hospitals.

Our courses are open to the community and those interested in working for SHS as a CNA. Current SHS employees interested in this training as part of their career path are encouraged to contact Professional Development. Approximately half of every course may be reserved for current or future employees, as our first priority is to meet the workforce needs of SHS. The other half of each course will be open to enrollment for the community.
