People who live in Sweet Home
like to say the town is “Oregon at its best,” and it’s easy to see why. Sweet Home is located at the base of the Cascade foothills, but the city also offers close proximity to the larger Willamette Valley cities of Albany, Corvallis and Eugene.
Outdoor recreation is abundant all around Sweet Home, from fishing and boating on Foster and Green Peter reservoirs, hiking and rock hunting in the Cascades, or strolling through town and exploring the historic murals on several buildings along Main and Long streets.
Originally known as a logging town, Sweet Home is now on the map with the Oregon Jamboree
country music festival, which features big-name country singers every summer, as well as the Frontier Sportsman’s Holiday celebration and Sweet Home Rodeo.
Located on the corner of Hwy 20 and 49th Avenue, Wiley Creek is a gracious, 42-acre retirement community nestled in a peaceful, rural setting at the edge of Wiley Creek in Sweet Home.
Assisted living is provided at Wiley Creek Lodge, a 44-unit facility featuring studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments.
