, Detroit Reservoir is one of Oregon’s largest and most popular summer boating retreats. The 400-foot-reservoir was created in 1953 when the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers completed the Detroit Dam project.
More than nine miles long with more than 32 miles of shore line, Detroit Reservoir is the spot for all types of water sports: fishing, boating, swimming, water skiing, and personal watercraft. Detroit has countless little coves to tuck into, making it a great spot for cruisers seeking seclusion. Well-established as a recreational hub, the town of Detroit offers overnight visitors extensive services, including campgrounds, stores and restaurants.
