Evergreen Hospice House Campaign

Evergreen Hospice House Campaign

In 2003 Samaritan Evergreen Hospice staff, a Linn-Benton volunteer task force and the Albany General Hospital Foundation began pursuing a dream of establishing an inpatient hospice facility for our region. The State of Oregon will only license six new hospice houses statewide. Two are already built; others are under consideration. By building a new hospice house to care for these families, we are expanding the good work of hospice and reinforcing hospice's most fundamental and meaningful values.

Every day of the year hospice touches people's lives throughout our region. It brings a celebration of life to those who are dying and solace and guidance to their families and friends. By providing a new place to care for these families, the new hospice house will elevate this work. Ultimately, it will elevate all of us by reinforcing our most fundamental and meaningful values.

A parcel of 6.67 acres located on Waverly Drive at Del Rio Ave. in southeast Albany was purchased in December 2008. This location, on the eastern border of Albany, is easily accessible to the city, Interstate 5, and just a few minutes' drive to Highway 34 leading both east and west.

You are invited to help transform this land into a Hospice House and, more importantly, transform a long-held dream into a reality for all mid-valley families. For more information, please call the Albany General Hospital Foundation at (541) 812-4705.
