Film fest benefits Women’s Cancer Coalition
The Women's Cancer Coalition host its annual LUNAFEST
on Saturday, Jan. 31 at LaSells Stewart Center in Corvallis. The local event, now in its eleventh year, raises funds for Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation to provide increased cancer awareness, education and screening resources for breast and cervical cancer patients in Benton, Linn and Lincoln Counties through the Women's Cancer Coalition Fund.
- 15 percent of proceeds from this year's event will benefit the national Breast Cancer Fund
- 85 percent will benefit local women
The Women's Cancer Coalition is a local group of professionals, community members and cancer survivors. Their fundraising efforts help fund services for 150 un-insured or underinsured women from Linn, Benton and Lincoln Counties at annual free cancer screening events. Screening events are held annual in Corvallis and Newport. Services at both events include clinical breast exam and digital mammography, cervical pap test and HPV testing as well as educational material and breast self-exam instruction.

general admission is $15 and $12 for students and seniors. Oregon Trail card holders can purchase tickets at the door for $5 (no online purchasing).
Light refreshments will be provided at intermission.
