Didactic Components

1. The clinical experience will be supplemented by a structured didactic program comprised of daily case report, daily noon conference, grand rounds, journal club, OMT clinics and procedure workshops.

Daily noon lectures

Lectures cover a wide variety of topics and sub specialties aimed at creating a well-rounded learning experience. The noon lecture curriculum series consists of the following areas:

  • General Internal Medicine
  • Sub-Specialty Medicine
  • Outpatient Medicine
  • Pharmacy Medicine
  • Business, Law and Ethics of Medicine
  • Morbidity and Mortality Conferences


Grand rounds

  • Occur each Friday with all members of the medical staff


Journal Club

  • Occurs monthly over dinner hosted by the program director


OMT clinic and workshops

  • All internal medicine interns will work a minimum of three shifts in the OMT clinic during the academic year
  • Procedure training sessions include: mock codes, mega codes, sonosite and lumbar puncture
