Gribler Loving Trust Endowed Nursing Education Scholarship

Each year, the Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital Foundation awards the Gribler Loving Trust Endowed Nursing Education Scholarship up to $2,000 for up to two years to students who live in Lincoln County and are pursuing a career and education in the nursing field.

The scholarship is awarded in honor of Bill and Olga Gribler, Newport residents since 1947. Bill taught music, providing entertainment throughout the community, and Olga worked for the phone company and later the Bank of Newport. They established this generous scholarship to help address the ongoing need for quality nurses in the region.

Eligibility

The Gribler Loving Trust Scholarship is awarded to Lincoln County residents who are returning to pursue education in addition to their high school diploma. Recent high school graduates are not eligible. Other eligibility requirements are outlined within the scholarship application below.

Application process

Applications are due in August 15, of the current calendar year. In addition to the application process, well qualified applicants may be selected for an interview. For more information, contact the foundation at 541-574-1810.

Certified Nurse Assistant Program Scholarship

Lincoln County residents pursuing certification as a nursing assistant, and plan to care for the health care needs of the Samaritan Pacific Health District (Depoe Bay to Yachats), are eligible to apply for the CNA Program Scholarship. Two $400 scholarships are offered by the Pacific Communities Health District Foundation annually.

Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital Auxiliary Scholarships

The Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital (SPCH) Auxiliary offers four scholarships to various categories of Lincoln County residents each year who are pursuing careers and/or education in a health related field.

Samaritan Pacific Health Services Employee Scholarships

Samaritan Pacific Health Services (SPHS) offers two $750 scholarships to eligible system employees pursuing education in a health related field. Each year, SPHS also offers five grants, up to $200, to its employees who are furthering their career in a medically related field.

Samaritan Pacific Health Services Graduating High School Student Scholarship

Each year, SPHS offers two, $1,000 scholarships to a man and woman graduating from high school who plan to pursue a career in a medically related field in a hospital setting. Oregon Coast Community College Nursing ScholarshipSPHS offers one, $1,000 scholarship to students enrolled or accepted into the nursing program at Oregon Coast Community College (OCCC).
