SHS Medical Libraries
The medical library system of Samaritan Health Services (SHS) is a vital resource for medical staff, administration and employees. In addition, the library system serves as a community resource, providing consumer health information to people in cities and towns served by SHS.
Murray Memorial Library
Located on the first floor of Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis, the Murray Memorial Library serves the entire SHS system. Its collection includes approximately 1,200 book titles, 250 journal subscriptions, and audiovisual and Internet resources representing all hospital disciplines.
Consumer services
The Murray Memorial Library staff is available to help patients, their families, and members of the community find reliable information in order to understand medical conditions, learn about healthier lifestyle habits, and make more informed health care decisions. In addition to on-site access to its extensive collection, the library offers:
- Borrowing privileges to the consumer health book collection
- Patient education videos: the titles can be viewed and checked out online or in person. Visit the Health On Video area of the GSRMC Web site for more information.
- Internet and e-mail access for patients and families. Library staff will help the public with computer use.
- Consumer Health Bookstore, which offers quality health-related books for purchase. The bookstore has a wide variety of consumer-oriented books on topics such as diabetes, cancer, women’s health, children’s health, sleep, psychology, surgery, health promotion, and heart disease and other chronic illnesses.

- Consumer bookstore: Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Stanley K. Davis Library
Located within Samaritan Albany General Hospital in Albany, the library serves both the SHS staff and the community. Services include:
- On-site access to books and periodicals
- Help with literature searches/references
- Interlibrary loans
- Internet and e-mail access for patients and families. Library staff will help the public with computer use.

Additional library resources for consumers
James R. Mol Library
Offering cancer-related information and resources for patients and families, this library is located within Samaritan Regional Cancer Center on the campus of Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis.
Center for Women and Families Resource Center
The center provides information on childbirth, breast-feeding, parenting and women’s health. It’s located in the Meslow Room on the 4th floor of Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis.
Health Resource Learning Center
The center provides information pamphlets and access to Health On Video. It is located within Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital, 525 N. Santiam Highway, in Lebanon.
