Women Investing in Samaritan Health - WISH

2008 grants

 

In 2008, WISH voted to grant more than $42,500 to local programs that benefit women, children and families.

This is a record amount for WISH annual giving. Since its inception in 2004, WISH has provided more than $122,000 in funding to dozens of Benton County programs.

The following programs will benefit from WISH donations in 2008:

  • The Pink Bag Project, essential items for breast cancer patients, in partnership with The Corvallis Clinic: $5,000.
  • Puttin’ on the Pink breast cancer education day, in partnership with The Corvallis Clinic: $5,000.
  • Childbirth preparation classes and educational DVD’s hosted by CAPE (Children & Parent Education): $1,400.
  • Rally Around Families Together (RAFT), education for parents of at-risk children, in partnership with the Old Mill Center for Children and Families: $5,000.
  • Alcohol and drug-abuse treatment, in partnership with Community Outreach, Inc.: $5,000.
  • Early Detection = Best Protection, mammograms and pedicures, Samaritan Health Services’ Mammography: $1,100.
  • Annual Pap-A-Thon & Mammogram event, Samaritan Health Services Regional Cancer Center: $5,000.
  • Boot Camp for New Dads, Samaritan Health Services’ Center for Women & Families: $5,000.
  • Critical Care OB/GYN room. WISH will be named as a major contributor to this room in the new Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center Critical Care Unit, which is under construction and slated to open in the spring of 2009: $10,000.
