Our Mission
To assist Pacific Communities Health District in acquiring equipment, services and education, enhancing the quality of medical care and health-related programs for the community.
A small, dedicated group of residents started the Pacific Communities Health District in 1983, to assist in fundraising efforts on behalf of the local hospital. Since that time the hospital has undergone several major renovations and expanded its programs to offer today's exciting advances in medicine and quality care locally. To reflect this growth and added services the title was changed to Pacific Communities Health District.
The PCHD Foundation is blessed with hundreds of donors -- caring individuals and businesses -- all making a commitment to high-quality health care in the area. Volunteer Trustees from the central Oregon Coast realize the value of the hospital's services. They work to assist the hospital in acquiring equipment, services and education, enhancing the quality of medical care and health-related programs for the community. The PCHD Foundation is a tax-exempt organization, 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue code. Gifts to the Foundation are tax deductible as allowed by the law. The Foundation strives to keep overhead costs to a minimum, so that donations are used for the direct vital support of health care. With your help, the PCHD Foundation is able to contribute more than $500,000 in 2007 to assist the hospital as it responds to the health care needs of a growing population.
Donor recognition is provided on our custom designed donor wall, and/or by a personal letter to you, a loved one or family member. Gifts may also be given anonymously.
We always appreciate cash donations, but donors can give to the PCHD in other ways:
- Real property, securities, and other appreciated assets;
- Bequests or testamentary trusts;
- Charitable gift annuities with a return for the remainder of the donor's life;
- Unitrusts, charitable remainder trusts;
- Life insurance designations.
A gift may be restricted or used where the need is greatest. It may be designated for a specific program, patient service area, equipment purchase or for the future support of health care through the Foundation's endowment. All donations remain locally.
