Exceptional Needs Care
IHN has registered nurses who work as Exceptional Needs Care Coordinators. These nurses are referred to as ENCCs. ENCCs help IHN members who have complex or special health care needs. ENCCs can work with your PCP, caseworker or state caseworker to help find ways to meet your health care needs. ENCCs focus on helping to coordinate the health care needs of people age 65 or older or who have disabilities. However, any IHN member may request ENCC services.
ENCC services include:
- Helping members understand their benefits and the process for getting services or supplies.
- Identifying other resources for members.
- Working with members who are having problems getting care.
- Helping members through the appeal process on denied decisions with which the member disagrees.
If you have questions or want to know more about ENCC services, please call IHN’s Member Services Department at 1-800-757-5114 or TTY 1-800-735-2900 and ask for an ENCC.
