Choosing and Changing PCPsWhich Doctors Can I See?As an IHN member you can choose your primary care provider (PCP). Your PCP will oversee your medical care and treatment. He/she will refer you to see a specialist if needed. If you do not already have a PCP when you become an IHN member you must choose one from the PCP Directory. Once you have made your choice, send IHN your completed “PCP Choice Card” that was included in your packet. If you need help choosing a PCP you may call the IHN Member Services Department at 1-800-757-5114 or TTY 1-800-735-2900 for assistance. If you are already seeing a provider, and you want to continue services with that provider, make sure that he/she is listed in the PCP Directory. If your provider is not listed or you do not want to continue seeing that provider, choose a new one listed in the PCP Directory. Once you have made your decision you must notify IHN. Once enrolled in IHN you are allowed to change your PCP three times within a 12-month period. If you still want a new PCP after your third change, you must write a letter explaining your reasons. IHN will then decide whether or not you can change PCPs based on the reasons listed in your letter. If you change your PCP, you may not see your new PCP until the first day of the following month. For example, if you choose a new PCP on October 15, you must wait until November 1 to see that provider. In order to change your PCP you need to call IHN at 1-800-757-5114 TTY 1-800-735-2900 or write to the following address:
