In order to prepare for your procedure we ask that you stop by our preadmissions clinic approximately two weeks prior to your scheduled procedure date and speak to a registered nurse. No appointment is necessary, drop ins are welcome. Our office is open Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. We are closed on all major holidays.
Please bring a complete list of all medications, including vitamins, herbal supplements and any over the counter medications that you take.
If lab tests have been ordered by your physician, please try to have them done approximately two weeks prior to surgery, unless otherwise instructed by your physician.
A free, pre-operative anesthesia consultation can be scheduled Monday through Thursday, up to two weeks prior to surgery. Simply call the Short Stay Center at 768-5130 to arrange an appointment.
Your physician is responsible for making all necessary arrangements for your or your child's stay. You may be contacted by the preregistration staff to obtain additional information and arrange for copayments to be paid, if needed. Samaritan Health Services requires copayments to be paid prior to scheduled admissions.
Please bring any insurance forms and/or identification cards with you to the hospital. These are used by the patient accounts staff to complete the billing process. For detailed information on billing, call 768-4392 or toll free (800) 640-5339.
It is very important that you make arrangements for a responsible adult to drive you home after your procedure. It is recommended that you have someone stay with you for the next 24 hours as well. If you are unable to arrange a ride home for the day of your scheduled procedure, please notify your physician's office. Your procedure may need to be rescheduled to a day that you have a ride available.
