Sridhar Vijayasekaran, MD

Dr. Vijayasekaran received a medical degree from Madras University in Chennai, India, and completed residency training in internal medicine and a fellowship in cardiology at the University of Buffalo in New York. He is board certified in internal medicine, nuclear cardiology, adult cardiology and echocardiography, as well as being a certified cardiac device specialist.

Dr. Vijayasekaran’s area of expertise includes transesophageal echocardiography, nuclear stress imaging, bedside right heart catheterization, and cardiac device management. He has a particular interest in working with internal medicine and geriatric patients, addressing the special cardiovascular challenges facing this aging population.

Prior to joining Samaritan Heart & Vascular Institute, Dr. Vijayasekaran worked at the University of Buffalo as an attending physician, clinical assistant professor and associate program director of the cardiology fellowship program.

Dr. Vijayasekaran is married and has two children. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family camping and hiking.
