Dr. Laurenson has been practicing in Corvallis since 1992, first in private practice and then at Heartspring where she has been since 2004. She has called Corvallis home for many years since attending Oregon State University, and then returning after attending medical school at the National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland.
Dr. Laurenson has an integrated, functional approach to medicine. She believes that many conditions can be treated first with practical lifestyle and dietary interventions. She utilizes diet, herbal, supplemental and homeopathic medicine as well as conventional medicines when necessary. Her focus is on women’s health and healthy aging as well as treating the whole family.
Dr. Laurenson enjoys the outdoors of Oregon, mostly on horseback. She also spends time on her ranch working in her garden growing most of her own food, as well as learning techniques for healthy cooking.
“Integrative medicine is exciting because it is now on the forefront of what I believe is the medicine of the future. It is the blending of the wisdom of the past and the knowledge of the present. As a naturopath, I feel that I am able to address diet and lifestyle issues that are an impediment to healing. I can act as a coach to encourage a person’s own innate ability to heal.”
