Janet Azzarello Bauer, MS, OTR/L

Personal Biography:

Janet was born and raised in Michigan and later moved to Chicago, Ill., where she spent 15 years working in a variety of rehab and skilled nursing settings. She moved to Oregon in 1997. Janet is married with three children, and is active in school related committees and within the community. In her free time, Janet enjoys cooking, sewing, gardening, reading and outdoor activities such as biking and skiing.

Janet has more than 20 years of experience in upper extremity therapy, which focuses on the rehabilitation of fractures, amputations, tendon and nerve injuries, cumulative trauma and splinting.

Bachelor's degree: Western Michigan University
Master's degree: DePaul University



  • Hand and Upper Extremity
    A specialty which focuses on the treatment congenital defects or injuries affecting the hand and upper extremity such as hand, wrist and elbow. This specialty consists of surgeons and rehabilitation therapists who have received special training to treat the hand and upper extremity.
  • Occupational Therapy
    Occupational therapy is an overall plan to help you achieve a maximum level of independent living. It helps you perform your day-to-day activities more comfortably and efficiently. You may need occupational therapy if an illness or injury has disrupted your ability to care for personal needs, or participate in work, school, family and/or community life. Treatment may focus on adaptive strategies or on the use of equipment to help you maintain optimal safety and independence.
