To improve the quality of patient care and build healthier communities by advancing research and health promotion activities.
Our Vision
To highlight SHS’s prominence as the leading regional health care system; to advance its reputation for excellence in patient care and advocacy for community health; and to showcase SHS as an exemplary steward of external funding for research and other sponsored programs.
Our Responsibility
The SHS Center for Health Research and Quality has central responsibility for health and clinical research, community-based health promotion programs, and other sponsored activities. All proposals for external funding are routed through the Center for review and signatory approval prior to submission. The Center also provides oversight and support to ensure compliance with human subject protection regulations and other terms and conditions. The SHS Institutional Review Board (IRB) falls under the jurisdiction of the Center.
