Juan Rodrigo Oyarzun, MD
Rod Oyarzun is the Director of Cardiothoracic Surgery for the Samaritan Heart & Vascular Institute and the former senior surgeon for the Starr-Wood Cardiac Group. He earned his medical degree at the University of Chile in Santiago, Chile.
He completed his residency in general surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York and a cardiothoracic surgery residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry in Newark, NJ.
Dr. Oyarzun is a fellow in both the American College of Surgeons and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons. In addition, he holds a double board certification from the American Board of Surgery and American Board of Cardiothoracic Surgery.
