Community Campaign for EndowmentThe Mario Pastega House opened in the summer of 2004 and serves as a home away from home for patients of Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center and their families. The 6,500-square-foot facility with 12 living units offers a comfortable and supportive environment for those needing to travel to Corvallis for medical care. In recent years, the number of out-of-area patients receiving specialty care such as radiation therapy for cancer or cardiac procedures at Good Samaritan has significantly increased and continues to grow. This new facility makes a difference in hundreds of lives each year. With the support and leadership of fund drive chair and businessman Mario Pastega and other community members, funds were raised to construct the guest house. However, to help the facility to be self supporting, we need to create a $1.5 million endowment to permanently underwrite operation and maintenance. A suggested payment of $20 a night per family will be recommended, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Your gift will ensure that future patients and their families will have the opportunity to feel “at home” in difficult times of medical treatment. “One hundred years from now it won’t matter how much wealth we had, or how much fame or prestige. But if along our path of life we gave a helping hand to fellow human beings, it will make a difference.” Mario Pastega Leave your mark… support the Paver CampaignAt the Mario Pastega House, engraved pavers will be displayed in a variety of outdoor areas including the entrance, patio, gazebo and walkways, leaving a lasting mark on this healing home. In addition, you have the opportunity to support a night’s stay by donating the $20 fee requested per day that some may not be able to afford. Yes, I would like to leave my mark!
