Samaritan Laboratory Services
The laboratories of Samaritan Health Services hospitals are responsible for testing blood, all types of body fluids and tissue samples to determine the presence of illness or disease. As with many areas of the hospital, the laboratory operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Samaritan recently consolidated some types of tests into one hospital or another, but since all of the labs are connected through a computer network, test results are available instantly anywhere in the system. Because results are often needed quickly — in some cases within 15 minutes — each hospital continues to maintain the core lab services necessary to serve their community. The hospital lab also serves as the blood bank and keeps an ample amount of blood on hand.
