Mary Ann Wallace, MD, MA
Medical Director, Division of Integrative Medicine

Dr. Wallace is board-certified in internal medicine, and holds a master's degree in psychology with an emphasis in holistic health. She has extensive training and experience in a variety of mind-body healing modalities, including meditation, Jin Shin Do acupressure, imagery, process-oriented psychology, vision quests, therapeutic touch and herbology, to name a few. Dr. Wallace had led workshops and classes on spirituality in medicine and mind-body issues for over 25 years. Her current focus is on integrated health care and spirit-centered leadership and healing.
Dr. Wallace is available for speaking engagements and workshop facilitation on mind-body matters and spirit-centered living. Individual clients are seen on a consultation basis. She also trains health care professionals in mind-body medicine via class work and mentoring.

Rhonda Simpson, MD

Dr. Simpson, a board-certified internist, completed her undergraduate training at Harvard University and received her medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco. A clinical training course in mind-body medicine at Harvard University has deepened her interest in integrating these powerful techniques with her first love of primary care. She also has an interest in the interactions between spirituality and health. Dr. Simpson is available for consultation with a physician referral.

Pamela Chapin, MD
Medical Director, Albany Heartspring Wellness Center
Dr. Chapin is the medical director for Albany Heartspring Wellness Center. She received bachelor’s degrees in chemistry and biochemistry from Colorado State University and a medical degree from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Dr. Chapin completed residency training in family medicine at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. She is board certified in family medicine, medical acupuncture and holistic medicine. She has additional training in functional medicine by the Institute of Functional Medicine, and in mind-body medicine by the Center for Mind-Body Medicine. Dr. Chapin practices primary care with an integrative and holistic approach utilizing her diverse background in nutrition, acupuncture, mind-body techniques, botanicals and bioidentical hormone replacement therapy.

David Myers, DO

Dr. Myers is board certified in family practice and osteopathic manipulative treatment. He completed undergraduate studies at the University of California, San Diego, and an osteopathic medical degree at Western University of Health Sciences. He completed residency training at Pacific Hospital of Long Beach, Calif. and the University of California, Los Angeles – Helms Medical Institute's Medical Acupuncture for Physicians course.
Dr. Myers has extensive training in general and cranial osteopathy, and had the opportunity to spend a year at the Osteopathic Center for Children and Familiesin San Diego, where he gained additional experience with osteopathic approaches to children.
Dr. Myers uses a holistic approach to patient care, geared toward promoting and utilizing the inherent healing potential from within to seek and alleviate the causes of health problems. He treats patients of all ages with osteopathic manipulation, acupuncture and other integrative care approaches.
Gael Wheeler, DO - Corvallis Heartspring 
Dr. Wheeler is board certified in family practice and osteopathic manipulative treatment. She earned a Master of Public Administration from the University of Missouri, Kansas City, and obtained an osteopathic medical degree from Kansas City College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Wheeler completed an internship and residency training at the University Community Hospital in Tampa, Fla. Following residency training, she founded Carrollwood Integrative Medicine, a holistic health and wellness clinic in Tampa.
Dr. Wheeler is also certified in holistic medicine by the American Board of Holistic Medicine. She completed the Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice training through the Institute for Functional Medicine, and has received second level Reiki training. She has had extensive training and experience with bioidentical hormone therapy, nutritional therapies and no-shot allergy therapy, among other modalities of treatment.
Dr. Wheeler draws from her diverse training and interests to provide an approach to medicine that respects the interplay between the physiologic and energetic in each individual. Her goal is to help patients maximize their own innate healing capability.
Lindy Lear-Konold, MSN, ARNP - Albany Heartspring

Lindy is an adult nurse practitioner with twenty years of experience in primary
care. She received a bachelor’s degree in life sciences from the University of
Nebraska and a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Washington.
She is certified in mind-body medicine by the Center for Mind-Body Medicine,
and has additional training in functional medicine from the Institute for
Functional Medicine. Lindy utilizes conventional therapies along with meditation,
autogenetics and biofeedback techniques as well as nutrition therapy with a
functional medicine approach. Lindy also has a special interest and extensive
training in diabetes care.

J. P. Kaesermann, ND, MSAOM

Dr. Kaesermann received a bachelor’s degree in human biology at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and obtained massage/bodywork training at East-West College in Portland, Ore. Desiring to further his natural medicine education, Dr. Kaesermann earned a doctorate in naturopathic medicine and a master’s degree in acupuncture and Oriental medicine from Bastyr University in Seattle, Wash.
Dr. Kaesermann utilizes diet and lifestyle management, nutrient therapy, acupuncture, herbs, manipulation and massage as well as modern medicines to optimize the wellness of the whole family.
Dr. Kaesermann practiced massage/bodywork from 1997 to 2001 in Corvallis and is excited to be a part of Heartspring Wellness Center’s integrative approach to primary care as well as the Samaritan Health Services team.

Dr. Laurenson, who is a naturopathic physician, received her degree from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, Ore. Dr. Laurenson emphasizes treatment of the whole person, mind and body. Her practice includes general family health care and utilizes herbal medicine, homeopathy, nutritional support for chronic disease and physical medicine, including massage, manipulation, sports medicine and exercise therapeutics.

Dr. Taylor completed a naturopathic medicine degree at the National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, Ore., and a master’s degree in acupuncture and Oriental medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine also in Portland. She is a national board certified diplomat in acupuncture. Although originally trained in traditional Chinese medicine, Dr. Taylor has increased her expertise to include traditional Japanese meridian therapy, Zhu scalp acupuncture, Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Technique (NAET) and facial rejuvenation acupuncture. Dr. Taylor integrates traditional Eastern and Western medical modalities through the use of acupuncture, physical medicine, exercise, nutrition, herbal formulations and meditation. She believes in a team approach where both the doctor and patient understand the disease process, working together to find solutions that will regain and establish energetic balance and optimal health.

Scott Safford, PhD

Dr. Safford received a bachelor’s degree from Linfield College in McMinnville, Ore., graduating summa cum laude, before completing a master’s degree and doctorate degree in clinical psychology at Temple University in Philadelphia. He completed an internship at the Portland VA Medical Center, and postdoctoral training at the Psychology Clinic at Idaho State University, where he also taught graduate and undergraduate courses in the psychology department. More recently, Dr. Safford taught undergraduate psychology courses, including Abnormal Psychology and Theories of Psychotherapy, at Oregon State University. He has authored more than 10 publications on issues relating to anxiety and depression.
Dr. Safford works with adults and older adults, utilizing an integrative approach to therapy that emphasizes cognitive behavioral and interpersonal processing techniques.He treats and consults on a broad range of psychological disorders and mental health issues related to depression, anxiety, grief and loss, chronic pain or health conditions, life transitions, caring for ailing family members, cognitive impairment and dementia.

Lisa Battaglia has a master’s degree in acupuncture and Oriental medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in Portland, Ore. She is nationally certified as a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine by The National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and is licensed by the state of Oregon’s Board of Medical Examiners. In addition to Oriental modalities, Lisa has 25 years experience in Western medicine in the area of diagnostic imaging. Lisa utilizes traditional Chinese medical theory to make a differential diagnosis and formulate a treatment strategy. She also has training in trigger point therapy, Japanese acupuncture, scalp acupuncture and reflexology.

Katy Stocks Brown, MSW, LCSW

Katy has a master’s degree in social work with an emphasis on child and family therapy. She is interested in the transformational possibilities of psychotherapy and believes in an integrative approach to therapy that incorporates mind, body and spirit. Katy integrates psychodynamic, family systems and cognitive behavioral therapy approaches with mind-body techniques such as mindfulness, breath practices, and guided imagery.

Xiaowei (Rose) Tian, LAc - Corvallis Heartspring 
Xiaowei (Rose) Tian is a Diplomate of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology. She received her Doctor of Oriental Medicine from Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, China. During her residency at the teaching hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Rose trained with Dr. Chang-du Lee, one of the best known acupuncture physicians in China. Rose specializes in classical Chinese acupuncture, herbal medicine, and Yang-style Tai Chi. In her acupuncture practice, she sees a variety of illnesses, including but not limited to: acute or chronic pain syndromes, neurological disorders, arthritis, tendonitis, allergies, sinus infections, chronic digestive disorders, depression / anxieties, acne, women's health issues and sleep disorders. She utilizes a variety of healing modalities to address both
symptoms and root causes of illnesses, and to restore the flow of life force,
or the Chi.

Seishiro Hokazono, LAc - Albany and Corvallis Heartspring
Seishiro is certified as a Diplomat of Oriental Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and is licensed by the Oregon Board of Medical Examiners.
He received a bachelor's degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from Carroll College in Helena, Mont., and a master’s degree in Oriental medicine from Southwest Acupuncture College in Santa Fe, N.M. Seishiro trained for six months at the TJM Aizawa Clinic in Tokyo, Japan, studying Japanese meridian-style acupuncture. He is trained to perform soothing acupuncture to those who are sensitive. He speaks English, Japanese and Spanish.
Seishiro specializes in using a combination of two Japanese acupuncture styles, Traditional Japanese Meridian style and Abdominal Clearing style; moxibustion; and Chinese herbs and dietary counseling to produce the balance each patient needs to heal.

Barbara has enhanced her clinical and
counseling skills during her years in acute
and long-term care, most recently working
with patients with diabetes, cancer and
obesity in the outpatient setting.
After completing the Food as Medicine
clinical training program by the Center for
Mind-Body Medicine she began to integrate
a holistic approach when working with
chronically ill patients, emphasizing whole
foods as well as the role of the environment

Mary Jane has a bachelor's degree in nursing, has training in oncology massage, and has been a licensed massage therapist since 1997. Mary Jane specializes in massage therapy utilizing reflexology and trigger point therapy. She enjoys teaching and providing tools to empower people to take responsibility for their health.

Shaun Wilcox, BS, LMT*

A native of Corvallis, Shaun Wilcox received his BS in psychology at Oregon State University. He then went on to train in massage therapy at the Oregon School of Massage, focusing on therapeutic and shiatsu techniques. His interest in massage therapy stems from a strong belief in the healing power of touch.

Joan Clapper, MA, OTRL, CFGP

Joan is a certified Feldenkrais Method movement therapist and a licensed occupational therapist. She received a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy and a mater’s degree in the area of woman, disability and aging. She has made the principles of Feldenkrais the core of how she lives and provides care.
Joan has presented at numerous conferences and has been instrumental in the development of nationally recognized Feldenkrais Method therapy programs. She has implemented treatment groups and worked individually, using the Feldenkrais Method, with people of all ages who are living with arthritis, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s, cerebral palsy, joint replacements, chronic pain, on-the-job injuries, brain injury and stroke.
