Physical Rehabilitation Department

The Physical Rehabilitation Department at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center comprises physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech pathologists working as a team to provide optimum independence for patients who have suffered a debilitating illness or injury. The department provides inpatient care in the hospital’s main building and outpatient care in a newly-constructed, fully-equipped ancillary building, which affords panoramic views of the Pacific Coast Range foothills.

The department offers a full range of rehabilitation equipment, including a SwimEx® pool for aquatic therapy, a Pneu-Back® for back evaluation and treatment programs, and a SMART® Balance Master System for assessing and treating balance deficits.

Members of Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center‘s Physical Rehabilitation team combine their expertise to gain the optimal physical performance for each patient in the following rehabilitation areas:

  • Arthritis
  • Balance disorders
  • Cardiac events
  • Hand injuries
  • Headaches and muscle tension
  • Joint replacement
  • Lymphedema (swelling)
  • Neck and back injuries
  • Sports injuries
  • Stroke and brain injuries
  • Swallowing, speech and language difficulties
  • Work injuries

In addition to its clinical offerings, the Physical Rehabilitation Department supports the following educational and preventive programs:
