Program Overview
If you’re like most people, you occasionally experience a morning or mid-afternoon slump—a time when you become sleepy and just don’t feel as attentive or motivated as usual.
While in most cases this drowsiness is normal and can be attributed to not enough sleep the night before, excess stress, certain medications or simply a change in the weather, for other people, a serious medical condition is to blame.
Sleep disorders, including insomnia, sleep apnea and restless legs syndrome, affect millions of people each year. Some sleep disorders have even been linked to chronic diseases including hypertension and heart disease. Thankfully, medical intervention by specially trained physicians can offer patients the sleep necessary to live productive, rested lives.
Experts in the field diagnose and treat sleep disorders at the Samaritan Sleep Disorders Center in Corvallis and Samaritan Pacific Sleep Lab in Newport, both collaborative programs of Samaritan Health Services and The Corvallis Clinic, as well as at the Corvallis Clinic Sleep Medicine Department. Together, the programs serve Benton, Lincoln and Linn counties. One of our sleep medicine specialists will determine which program is right for you based on where you live and your specific medical needs.
